Our Philosophy
At UMEUS Early Learning we believe that a positive, supportive and an educational environment is of the upmost importance of building a solid foundation in early childhood education, enabling each child’s development, growth and future. We strive to place each child at the centre of our thinking and decision making with the rights of the child being paramount to what we do.
We endeavour to provide the children a safe, secure, caring and nurturing home-like enviroment, where inclusion is promoted, independent exploration is encouraged and learning is fostered. Children are unique, capable and competent learners. They are inspired and encouraged to view themselves as valued and individual memebrs of the community.
We believe that building meaningful relationships and working in partnerships with families and the local community is key. Our highly qualified and experienced educators strive for professional excellence, bringing fundamental personal qualities to our program. We acknowledge the importance of working as a team and continue to reflect and improve on our practices through on-going professional development. We value and support our team greatly. Our respectful and passionate educators work together in creating a warm and friendly environment while supporting children’s interest and individual strengths. We recognising it is our responsibility to educate and care for children through warm interactions that promote self-esteem and self-expression. We offer guidance and acknowledge the individuality of each child and their family.
Our educational program is based on the “Early Years Learning Framework” and the centre is guided by the ‘National Quality Framework’. In accordance with the curriculum, we provide a stimulating, interactive, educational, play based program that is catered to and meets the individual needs of each child in our care. As each child participates in their own learning, mutual trust and respect will be nurtured. We educate the children to care and respect each other, regardless of their gender, race, religion or cultural background. We embrace sustainability by educating the children about sustainable practices and caring for our natural environment for future.
We promote the importance of health and well-being for all children in our care. We believe that physical movement and healthy eating is paramount in daily experiences while in our care. By providing a nutritional menu and promoting physical activities, we role-model healthy lifestyle habits for the future generation. These practices are embeded in our daily rountines to asist the children with developing knowledge and skills to promote their own healthy lifestyles.
We acknowledge the original custodians of the land. We believe in a positive and proactive approach towards our environment while encouraging educators and children to discover respect for the land, nature and animals around us. We respect diversity, beliefs and values within our program and aim to build on-going relationships and partnerships with the wider community. We believe that family is the most important relationship for the child. We acknowledge the uniqueness and diversity that each family brings to our program. We encourage open communication with our families and value all interactions. We have a responsibility with the community and other professionals to work with and support families to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
